• August: Peak season: hot, dry and busy. Book tours and accommodation well ahead. Average high 32.8 °C, low 22.8 °C; about 0.5 mm of rain over 0.1 rainy days.
• September: Shoulder season: the sea stays warm into October, with far fewer visitors than peak summer and lower prices. Average high 28.6 °C, low 19.2 °C; about 16.0 mm of rain over 1.8 rainy days.

Spring and autumn: April, May and October

• April: Mild and green, with wildflowers on the hiking trails, but the sea is still cool. Average high 19.7 °C, low 11.1 °C; about 40.2 mm of rain over 7.4 rainy days.
• May: Shoulder season: warm enough to swim comfortably, long daylight hours and far fewer visitors than summer. A good window for hiking Mount Kerkis and the Manolates trails. Average high 24.9 °C, low 14.9 °C; about 19.8 mm of rain over 4.0 rainy days.
• October: Reasonable daytime warmth in the first half of the month, with a genuine off-season feel and lower prices. Average high 23.5 °C, low 15.5 °C; about 35.8 mm of rain over 5.0 rainy days.

Winter: November to March

For the warmest weather and the most reliable sunshine, aim for July and August: at Samos Airport July averages 0.5 mm of rain over 0.2 days and a daily high of 33.0 °C. It is also peak season, with the busiest towns and the highest prices.
